Faith To Move Up Mountains
by Tess Burrows
There is something awe-inspiring and wondrous about the coming together of many loving heart thoughts. How can the whole be so much more than the sum total of the parts... unless perhaps it is the viscosity of Divine Energy creating the light which shines out into the world? So many groups across the Earth are quietly working as catalysts in this way right now... little blobs of light illuminating dark corners... portraying faith...bringing the strength of peace... inspiring hope...
The 'Climb For Tibet' team is one such group. This year they collected nearly 800 peace messages, from individuals, many from children, and carried them to the summit of the world's tallest mountain, Mauna Kea in Hawaii. (With some 5,000 metres below the ocean and 4,200 metres above it measures more than 350 metres taller than Mt Everest.) The peace messages were spoken out onto the winds of the Earth. The team had undertaken the seemingly impossible challenge of RUNNING the gruelling 41 miles from the ocean to the summit to raise sponsorship funds for their 'Building Schools For Tibetans' programme and also a Native Hawaiian Charter School. It was the 6th of July, the birthday of their patron, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who speaks of non-violence, compassion for all life and universal responsibility. This is the light of the Tibetan spirit which the peace messages expressed.
One of the messages sent in to the team was:-
"Faith is the bird that sings before the dawn"
For decades of time both the Tibetans and the Native Hawaiians have suffered oppression and sadness, but have never lost faith in their culture and spiritual beliefs. It has given their lives meaning and enabled the viscosity of light. May we all hear that beautiful song and know peace.
